Srinagar, January 18 (KNO) : In reference to news being circulated by some sections of press regarding thrashing of inmates of a family from Poniwa Kulgam. The news circulated is baseless and concocted.
While confirming the details from the district administration, it has been clarified that yesterday a team of security forces went to arrest one of the inmate of family, some miscreants created hue and cry in the area and pelted stones upon the personnel which were doing their lawful duty. To avoid any damage to life and property security force personnel responding in professional manner withdrew from the area. The news as such is rebutted.
Moreover, the family along with respectable people from the area visited SP Kulgam today and assured full cooperation with police in future and also apologized for their behavior.(KNO)
